The Yarn Group

Knit and natter

Fluffy cat helping sew up the blanketsThe yarn group came about when Sue Shapland and Karen Wellman were on a walk and discovered they both loved knitting. The youth group came up with the name Chapter Room Yarn which was a great name for the group but we discovered that the light wasn't really good enough in the Chapter Room to knit by so we now meet in the Barn in Church Cottage on the second Friday of the month from 2pm til 4pm.

Although most of us have our own yarn projects of varying complexity we decided to make a group piece and so the knitting of many squares came about. I think we got a bit carried away and sewing them up took forever.

We have made about ten blankets that went to a local old people's home and we have now decided to try our hand at premature baby clothes.
