St Michael's Church, Basingstoke

There has been a church on the St Michael's Church site for nearly a thousand years. It is a place of Christian worship and also a place of quiet reflection for those who live and work in the town. The church is normally open during daylight hours and anyone is welcome to come and sit, or to pray or to just be.

We are a friendly parish church which has a choral tradition with our worship led by a robed choir and an organ but we are open to other worship styles as we seek to journey together as disciples of Jesus Christ. If you are new to Basingstoke or interested in exploring faith then please come and meet us. Details of our regular services and our seasonal services at Christmas and Easter can be found on the tab to the left.

If you are interested in a wedding, funeral or baptism  in St Michael's Church then click on the links or contact us for more information.

Our Church Hall is the lovely historic Church Cottage which is one of the oldest buidlings in Basingstoke and can be hired out for meetings, parties and other events. Information about hiring rooms in Church Cottage can be found here.

There is plenty of parking on a Sunday in our own carpark. During the week there is no car parking on site but we are very close to the town centre car parks.

As well as the usual range of Sunday morning services we have a regular service for families at 5pm on the first Sunday of every month that features our parrots Bow and Blue. In our Time Together service the parrots join us for stories, songs, craft and activities in church followed by tea and cake in Church Cottage. I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.   Romans 8 38-39
