Church Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Basingstoke, being a listed building of Tudor origin. It has a wealth of oak beams and provides an interesting and attractive backdrop to any function. We currently have space in our lettings diary for both regular meetings and occasional events.

The old barn in Church CottageThe Barn

The Barn measures 20m x 8m with a stage of 4.6m x 3.7m and it is a beautiful hall capable of seating 120.

Old timber uprights support the roof from a well sprung modern floor. With a stage at one end it is suitable for many different uses such as wedding receptions, business lunches, demonstrations and club meetings.

The kitchen and servery are fully equipped with hatches to both the Barn and the School Room. For all functions you can hire a caterer or do the catering yourself.

The site is accessible as it is level. There is an disabled toilet. There is amplification including a loop system for those who are hearing- impaired.

The Chapter Room at Church CottageThe Chapter Room


At 6m x 4.8m, The Chapter Room is a smaller room. It is carpeted and full of atmosphere with its fine open Tudor fireplace. It accommodates 30 - 40 people and is suitable for small parties, committee meetings or small groups.








School room at Church CottageThe School Room

The School Room is 9m x 5m

It was used as an Infants' School in Victorian times. This room is available for meetings of groups of up to 20 people.

Please note that this room also contains our Church Office.
