The Promise
|
Every one in Rainbows, Brownies and Guides makes a Promise (even the leaders!). Any female can join Girlguiding as long as they have an understanding and respect of the Promise.
Rainbows stand together and say:
I will do my best to love my God and to be kind and helpful
Brownies:
I promise to do my best,
To love my God
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people and keep the Brownie Guide Law.
Because Brownies are older they normally say this by themselves, and can choose where and how they make it.
Guides and adults:
I promise to do my best,
To love my God
To serve the Queen and my country,
To help other people and keep the Guide Law.
Guides choose where and when they make their Promise. They may wait a couple of years before they feel they are ready. Some have made their Promise in a swimming pool, on an ice rink, in the Science museum, at a sleepover…. Whenever it is a special time for them.
