Hi, we're Guides at 10th Basingstoke (All Saints) Guides. This site has been written by various Guides while doing their BP Challenge. These included Emma, Fran and Kathy, who started it and Debs, Kat, Heidi, and April who have added to it

How Many People
At All Saints Guides there are usually (on a good day) about 25 Guides. We have 4 leaders, 1 young leader, and our resident rainbow leader. We have 4 Patrols with around 6 guides in each (we'll explain the rest later).
|
Patrols
Patrols, there are four of them, named after various different things: The Eiffel Towers, Pyramids, Elephants and the Parrots most with a groovey metal badge for each. The Patrol who set up this site were known here as the pixiefairies patrol. They have left now and have gone on to bigger and better things, they have become Young Leaders. We hope very much that they will come back soon and visit us. The Patrol that continued this site were known as the Rainbows.
In each Patrol there are about six people, with a Patrol Leader and a Patrol Second. Your Patrol is a safety net for you when you are scared of the leaders but they don't bite, honest!

Ages
Guides lead on from Brownies so when you leave Brownies you come to Guides (if there's space). If you aren't a Brownie then you can still come as long as you are a GIRL!!!! (soz boyz) and you're aged between 10 and 15, but saying that if you're 15 then it's better to join Senior Section.

Leaders
At Guides we have 4 leaders their names are Barny, Tawny, Heron and Falcon. As we said we do have a young leader called Emma and we love her! Yes this is the same Emma who was in the pixiefairies and helped set up the site. Our resident rainbow leader Snowy is here most nights helping out. Snowy sorts out all the finances.
The leaders are here to make sure we all have a great time and to ensure our safety, so we will enjoy our evenings at Guides.
All Patrols have leaders (who have groovy little badges), they lead activities within their patrols. They are also there if you wish to talk to them about anything that concerns or worries you, that you would rather tell someone your own age instead of an adult leader. They also put forward the patrols ideas to the leaders.

Times And Places
We meet once a week, except over school holidays, from 7:30 till 9:00. But we don't normally get out till quarter past! Our meeting place is a hall at the top of town. We do have some meetings in other places like the local park, swimming pool etc.
