At particular seasons and times of year we have services with a particular theme. The information below will give general information. You will need to look at our calendar for particular dates and times
Advent and Christmas
We hold additional services in this season, which include a Christingle service, our carol service on the Sunday before Christmas. On Christmas Eve we have a crib service, which is suitable for children of all ages, and later, Midnight Mass and a service on Christmas morning.
Lent and Easter
We hold a service on Ash Wednesday to mark the start of Lent. At this service those who come can be marked with a cross made from ashes as a sign of repentance and renewal.
Holy Week and Good Friday (the week before Easter)
There often are additional services which are often quiet and reflective as we approach Good Friday and Easter.
The service at 10.00am is a joyful celebration of the Resurrection for all ages. We begin with lighting the Easter Fire and end with an Easter egg hunt in church.
This service is normally held at the end of September, often on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Every year in early November, we have a special service where we can remember and give thanks for those we knew and love who have died, either recently or many years ago. We include the names of all those whose funerals we have taken in the last 12 months, and those whose family requests this. There is also an opportunity to light a candle for those who have died.
This year (2017) the service is at 3.30pm on Sunday November 5th. Anyone is welcome to come.If you would like a name included among those we read out, please use the e-mail address on the contact page.
